“I Never Said Nigeria Won’t Recover For 10-Years, If Atiku Rules For Just A Day” – Okupe

Former presidential aide, Doyin Okupe has refuted claims he said Nigeria will not recover for 10 years, if Atiku Abubakar rules for a day.

Okupe, who suffered severe backlash from Atiku supporters over the statement said he didn’t originate it.

The former presidential aide said the original statement was that ‘If Atiku rules for just a day, it will take Nigeria 10 Years to recover but if Saraki rules, Nigeria will become history.’

Although Okupe didn’t name the originator of the statement, he said all he did was change Saraki’s part to ‘Nigeria will make history’ from ‘Nigeria will become history’, noting that he would never insult Atiku.

Okupe made this clarification via his twitter handle some days ago.

He wrote:-

I did not originate d post saying if Atiku ruled, Nig will not recover in 10yrs, but if SP, it ‘ll bcom history.I changed bcos history to “will make History”.Can never insult Atiku 4 any reason.
