Three Wildlife Elephants have been sighted at Ganten Tudu, Zaria Kala – Kala and Karan Laje Villages in Bagudo and Koko Besse Local Government Areas of Kebbi State.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari said reports indicate that the elephants were sighted along the river banks.
Officials of the Ministry of Environment, traditional rulers and security agencies are at the scenes to safeguard the lives of the elephants.
The statement quotes the Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Musa Hassan Kalgo as, saying the Wild Life are suspected to be from the neighbouring Benin or Niger Republics.
He added that already officials of the two countries have been alerted.
He then called on the general public, traditional rulers and security agencies to ensure the safety of the animals, while they make way back to their abodes.
