President Muhammadu Buhari has insisted that no part of Nigeria was under the control of Boko Haram insurgents.
Buhari stated this while recounting some successes of his administration during an interactive session with some Nigerians in Beijing, China, on Sunday.
He said security operatives deployed to counter-insurgencies in the North East were responsible for the successes of the operation.
This is coming at a time about 30 soldiers were alleged to have been killed by Boko Haram insurgents at Zari village in Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno.
However, Brig.-Gen. Texas Chukwu, Director, Army Public Relations stressed that the report was a “figment of the imagination.’’
But speaking, Buhari said, “You will all recall that we contested the last election basically on three issues, which includes security, especially in the North East.”
