A robbery suspect arrested by officers of the Niger State Police Command, has confessed to stealing a motorcycle, a crime he commits each time he is broke.
According to the suspect, Manyan Gimba who was arrested with a Bajaj motorcycle valued at N230,000, he had stolen several motorcycles which he sold to meet his financial responsibilities.
The 24-year-old robbery suspect from Angulu village, Katcha Local Government Area, reportedly connived with his accomplices to rob people of their motorcycles at different locations in Wodata village, Agaie Local Government Area of the state.
Punch reported that his arrest came after he dispossessed one Gimba Idrisu of Wadada village of his Bajaj motorcycle. Speaking to newsmen, Manyan who said he steals motorcycles each time he is broke, said;
“Frankly speaking, any time I can not meet up with my personal needs, the thing to do was to dispossess people of their motorcycles or other valueables that can fetch me money quickly.
“Since I’m unemployed and there is no job anywhere, I had to engage myself in a thing that would fetch me money for survival, either negative or positive things, I don’t mind,” Gimba explained.
The suspect was arrested on Sunday by a team of police detectives attached to Agaie Division according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, he will charged to court after investigation.
