This is contained in a statement issued by the governor through his media aide, Mr. Sola Fasure, in Osogbo on Wednesday, September 26.
The statement read, “The State Government of Osun has declared Thursday, September 27, 2018, a public holiday throughout the state.
“This is to enable workers to participate in the rerun governorship election taking place in seven units in Ife-North, Ife-South, Orolu and Osogbo Local Government Areas of the State.”
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured the highest votes in the governorship poll which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared inconclusive.
The candidate of the PDP, Ademola Adeleke polled 254,698 votes, 353 votes more than his closest rival, Gboyega Oyetola of the APC.
The margin was, however, less than the 3,498 votes in the polling units where voting was cancelled.
