Sandra Ankobiah Continues Fight For Women Empowerment With A Powerful Call On President Akufo-Addo To Fulfil His Campaign Promise And Pass Affirmative Action Bill

The fight for female empowerment encompasses more than sitting on social media and screaming your lungs out about every minute detail of life one is not comfortable with.

There’s real work to be done in the world to ensure legislation and policies are put in place to force what is an admittedly entrenched society to make things equal for both sexes.

The true feminists are those who work tirelessly to get such policies passed an make a larger impact than scoring points on social media.

Stunning lawyer Sandra Ankobiah is taking the fight for women empowerment to the Presidency, with a powerful call on the President to fulfil his promise and ensure the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill.

Ankobiah spoke at a media forum on the bill, which has been around for years now without being passed. If passed into law, the Affirmative Action bill would ensure that policy decisions are taken to ensure equal opportunity and representation for females in the decision-making process of the state.

Writing on social media following the forum, Ankobiah said action must be taken on the bill, imploring the President to fulfil his promise and get Parliament to pass the bill.

“President Akufo-Addo, before coming into power said he is committed to the passage of the bill but since ascending into office, little has been done in the House to get the bill passed into law.” she wrote.

“We all have to intensify the campaign of the passage of this Law. The president @nakufoaddo has said he’s committed to passing this Law. Two years into his administration and the Bill hasn’t been tabled before parliament. It’s time to take action and move beyond just expressing our pain. It’s time to fast track the process needed to pass this Law, and we cannot do it without you. We must not accept another year in which progress is not made. #FIDAGHANA #FES“. she added.

As a lawyer, the former television personality fights for female empowerment in numerous ways, with one of her positions being as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) in Ghana.

She has also recently taken her activism up a notch, fighting not only for women and the disadvantaged in society but for artists to be given their due for the monetary rewards of their creativity.
