Former Chief of Staff to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Uche Nwosu, yesterday, said the national chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, cannot sack him (Nwosu) from APC.
Nwosu, a son-in-law to Okorocha who spoke to newsmen in Owerri, was reacting to reports that the National Working Committee,NWC, of the party could sanction aggrieved members for taking the party to court as a result of the governorship primaries if they fail to withdraw such cases from court.
It added that the affected members had refused to use the internal mechanism of the party to resolve all the said controversies.
However, Nwosu had insisted he won the November 6 APC governorship primaries.
He dared Oshiomhole that despite the reported threat, he would continue to pursue his mandate through lawful means.
Nwosu added that he had written to Oshiomhole several times but that the national chairman ignored him.
Nwosu said: “It is unfortunate that the national chairman of our party is just waking up now after causing trouble. He had all the time to resolve the issue before now but he refused to do so.
“In line with the constitution of the party, I had exhausted all avenues to have my matter resolved using internal mechanism but nobody came to my aid.
“I personally wrote three different letters to the national chairman and I have the acknowledgment, but he never responded to any of the letters.”
Nwosu recalled that in one of his letters, he pleaded with Oshiomhole “to change the person of Gulak as chairman of the committee because of his comment/boast that he is coming to Imo State to deliver his friend, Senator Hope Uzodinma as APC governorship candidate.”
