VIDEO: Reggae Star Buju Banton Freed After 7 Years In U.S Prison

About 9 months ago GhanaCelebrities.Com reported that Jamaican Reggae superstar Mark Myrie, better known by his stage name Buju Banton, will be released within this year, 2018.

Happily, the D-day has finally come for Jamaica to welcome another reggae legend to their grounds after Ethiopian Emperor Hail Selassie in April 1966 as Banton has become a free man after serving a 7 year prison term in the U.S.

Myrie obviously one of the world’s most famous Reggae artistes whose name comes next after Bob Marley, was convicted and found guilty after 5kg of cocaine was found in his possession.

However, after the announcement of his release, the Jamaican Culture Minister, Olivia “Babsy” Grange reported that even though the artiste was arrested due to the offence he committed, they will welcome him as their own.

 “…Is now really about, from what we understand, employment of young people. If he can help shape and re-socialise young people, that is something we should embrace,” she said.
